St. Pete Florida3S Gathering

Blogged in General by phobos Monday August 29, 2005 at about 4:40 PM

This weekend I went over to St. Petersburg to hang out with friends from Florida3S, the Florida chapter of 3000GT and Stealth owners. The original plan was to go to a car show at Autoway Ford, but it was canceled due to the threat of (then Tropical Storm) Katrina. So, we ended up going to Tampa Bay Grand Prix and drove 45 mph go karts on a 1/4 mile track. When we were done with that, we went across the street to an empty parking lot where I tried to do all wheel drive doughnuts, which are a lot more difficult than you think. After that, we hung out at Bob and Gail’s house, who have a pool and a badass Jack Russel terrier. Anyway, here are the pics and video.

At Wendy’s. I bet I could finish a Classic Double in five bites. I did it in four:

Invading the parking lot:

Go karting:

It started pouring HARD, rain was coming in sideways. It was impossible to turn, so we waited it out.

On the third lap of the Grand Prix race, I spun out and got stuck on a wall. Finished last :(

Aftermath of drifting/doughnuts:

Belly flops into the pool:

(A-)synchronized backflips (I’m behind executing the perfect flip, Marc is in the foreground looking like a cripple):

Tug-of-War with Spanky:

Videos:
